Who we are

Meet the Team

CareLens is a small team with a specific belief: that most people can improve their skin, hair, and daily habits with better information and a plan, and that the current internet is really bad at giving them either. Here is who writes what, who reviews what, and who to email when something looks wrong.

The CareLens Editorial Team

Writing & research

Our editorial team is a small group of long-form health writers with backgrounds in cosmetic chemistry, nutrition science communication, and consumer health journalism. Every article you read on the CareLens Journal is drafted by a named human writer, fact-checked against the source tiers described in our editorial standards, and — for anything clinical — passed to a medical reviewer before publication. Combined experience: 20+ years across skincare, hair-care, and nutrition publications.

Owns

The Journal, ingredient explainers, routine guides, myth-busters.

Consulting Dermatologist

Medical review — skin & hair

Our consulting dermatologist is board-certified (US) with a decade of clinical practice focused on acne, rosacea, pigmentation, and androgenetic alopecia. They review every clinical article, every ingredient recommendation, and the scoring rubric used by our vision pipeline. Reviewer initials and review dates appear on medically reviewed articles.

Owns

Skin & hair article review, ingredient safety, when-to-see-a-doctor guidance, product category approvals.

Consulting Registered Dietitian

Medical review — nutrition & wellness

Our consulting RD holds a masters in clinical nutrition and works with patients on skin-adjacent conditions (hormonal acne, PCOS-linked hair changes, iron deficiency, gut-skin axis). They review every nutrition or wellness article and every diet-related recommendation the plan generator can output.

Owns

Nutrition articles, supplement guidance, gut-skin content, meal-timing recommendations.

Engineering

Product, AI pipeline, security

The engineering team builds and maintains the CareLens web app, the vision pipeline, the plan generator, and the account and privacy infrastructure. Backgrounds include machine-learning research, applied cryptography, and consumer product engineering at scale. All privacy and data-handling decisions are reviewed by this team against the standards described in our privacy policy.

Owns

Vision pipeline, scoring, plan generator, authentication, data privacy.
