CareLens is an AI-powered health-information platform designed to make health information easier to understand. Our goal is to help people organize what they are seeing and prepare better questions for conversations with qualified healthcare professionals. CareLens does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent medical conditions.
Hi. We're a small team (two people, a designer and an engineer, plus a dermatologist who answers our dumb questions on weekends). We built CareLens because we were both tired of buying skincare based on TikTok and hoping for the best. This is the tool we wanted for ourselves.
Why we made this
A good derm visit costs a few hundred dollars and takes weeks to book. A quiz on a skincare site is basically just a survey wearing a lab coat. So most people end up doing what we did for years — picking products based on packaging and hoping. We thought a model could at least look at a selfie, describe what is visible in plain English, and point you towards sensible general habits — and tell you when something is worth showing a professional. So we built that.
It looks at your face
Not a quiz. The model describes what is visible — dry-looking patches, redness, texture — in plain English. Descriptions, not diagnoses.
It's kind about it
No 'your skin is aging fast' scare-tactic nonsense. We show you what's going on and what to do next. That's it.
Your photo is yours
We don't store it, we don't train on it, we don't send it to anyone. It gets read once and thrown away. Promise.
How we think about routines
Fewer things, in the right order. That's the whole philosophy. Most people don't need twelve steps — they need three, done consistently, for six weeks. So that's usually what your plan looks like. If you love a longer ritual, cool, we'll add layers once the basics are locked in. If you'd rather just have three bottles on your shelf, we can do that too.
We name real products because "use a moisturizer" is useless advice. We tell you the ingredient we care about (ceramides, azelaic acid, whatever) so you can swap brands based on your budget or what's actually on the shelf near you. We don't take affiliate money. There's nothing to sell you.
Who this is for
Honestly? Anyone who has ever stood in a drugstore aisle at 11pm holding two moisturizers, googling "which one." Students figuring out their first routine, people in their thirties suddenly dealing with adult acne, parents who have four minutes to spare, guys who want a skincare answer without the pink packaging. Everyone is welcome.
What we are not
Not a doctor. Can't tell you if a mole is cancerous, can't diagnose eczema versus psoriasis, can't say if your medication is safe with a supplement. If something is spreading, bleeding, or scaring you — please go see a real dermatologist. We'll still be here when you get back.
Privacy in plain language
Your photo is used only to generate your report. It isn't retained on our servers unless you're signed in and explicitly save the report to your account. We do not sell your data and we use minimal cookies, mostly for authentication.
